Generally when an album is done being written, I play it to death for myself during about six months after that I stop. And writting is resumed for a brand new album a few weeks later.
However if the last track written for the last album « RED SUN » was written in September of 2023, written for the album « ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY » only resumed 8 months later in May of 2024 which suggest a little writer’s block on my part.
And there was also a writer’s block during the writing of this album mid-way through. After having written all 6 or 7 first tracks, I had a little writer’s block. But fortunately it only lasted for a few days and after that writing of the album was completely.
But these tracks were so good that I didn’t want so so tracks to ruined the whole package. And even if I really think that tracks 2, 5 and 7 are not that exceptionnal, I’ve very proud of all the other tracks.
For the very first time I used sounds, drums and softwares used to produce exclusively EDM, electro and hyper pop and it shows I think.
I love the drums on « I Still Love You », my friends say this drum slaps. « A Beguiling Future » and « Freed From My Chains » are super electronic musics that could easily have fit on the previous album since they’re a little dark too.
But all the other tracks are very bouncy and playful like « (I Wanna Do) Right By You », « I Was The Lucky One » or « She Is Never Satisfied ». Without forgetting of course the smashing and brutal « The Vampire Bride »
One of the most surprising works of this album is probably the track called « Nothing Will Ruin My Day Today » which the melody sounds like Irish ballad but on techno steroïds thanks to techno-ey drums and sounds. Truly unique.
This album was written mainly and May and June of 2024. For the b-sides and extra-tracks of the singles recording extended to half of July 2024 as well. But this album was so good to me that a lot of the songs that came long after that were not deemed worthy and following this up.
When you make an album that is this good where almost one out of 2 tracks is almost single-worthy material you can’t follow it up with something that might be just average. That’s why for many months after the recoding of this album I thought there would be no successor to it. Even though it eventually happened. But not before May of 2025, a full year after the writing of « The Vampire Bride ».
For many months « The Vampire Bride » was considered to be the last track of the album. It’s only 3 or 4 months before it’s released that I decided to add the remix of « City Of Dreams » as a bonus track not to end the album with a track as brutal as « The Vampire Bride ».
Even though « City Of Dreams » was written on July 25th of 2024 a full month after « The Vampire Bride » which was written between June 9th and June 11th, it was released before. So it’s really the logical next step that’s why I decided to add « City Of Dreams » at the end of the album. It allows the album to end in a smoother and cool way.

TITRE BONUS :
11. CITY OF DREAMS remix 4:10
Généralement lorsque j’ai fini de composer un nouvel album, je l’écoute à mort pendant 6 mois, puis j’arrête. Et quelques semaines plus tard à peine, je commence la compostion de nouveaux titres.
Mais si le dernier titre écrit pour l’album « RED SUN » a été composé en septembre 2023, les premiers titres écrits pour l’album « ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY » n’ont commencé que 8 mois plus tard en mai 2024, ce qui tend à suggérer que j’ai eu un peu un petit blocage ou manque d’inspiration à ce moment-là.
Et il y a eu même pour moi pour la première fois un petit manque d’inspiration en plein milieu de l’enregistrement de cet album. Après avoir fait les 6 ou 7 premiers titres, j’ai du attendre plusieurs semaines avant que l’inspiration ne revienne pour finir les derniers titres de cet album. .
Mais les titres de cet album sont tellement bons que je ne voulais pas que des titres passables viennent gâcher l’ensemble. Et même si je considère que les titres 2, 5 et 7 ne sont pas extraordinaires, je suis en revanche très fier de tous les autres titres de ce disque.
J’adore la batterie sur le titre « I Still Love You » (je t’aime toujours), mes amis disent que cette batterie-là, elle claque, lol. « A Beguiling Future » (un avenir séduisant) et « Freed From My Chains » (libéré de mes chaînes) sont super électroniques et un peu sombres, donc ils auraient très bien pu figurer sur l’album précédent je pense.
En revanche, tous les autres titres sont sautillants et très positifs comme par exemple « (I Wanna Do) Right By You » (je veux te traiter bien comme il faut), « I Was The Lucky One » (j’étais le chanceux) ou « She Is Never Satisfied » (elle n’est jamais contente) .Sans oublier le phénoménal et brutal « The Vampire Bride » (la mariée du vampire).
Un des morceaux les plus surprenants de cet album est très certainement le titre appelé « Nothing Will Ruin My Day Today » (rien ne gâchera ma journée d’aujourd’hui) dont la mélodie ressemble presque à une ballade irlandaise mais version tehno car les sons et la batterie, eux sonnent très techno, une curiosité que ce titre vraiment unique.
Cet album a été principalement écrit et composé entre mai et juin 2024. Pour les face B et les titres bonus à paraître sur les singles, l’enregistrement s’est poursuivi jusqu’à mi-juillet 2024.
Mais j’ai trouvé cet album tellement excellent puisque c’est un album où presque un titre sur deux serait presque digne de paraître en single que pendant très longtemps je ne lui imaginais pas de successeur. Et tous les écrits qui furent écrits après, beaucoup ont été tout bonnement et simplement refusés par moi car je ne les estimais pas dignes de sortir après cet album tant cet album est excellent pour moi.
Même si un successeur finira par arriver mais pas avant le mois de mai 2025 pour le premier titre composé ensuite que j’estimais valable soit près d’un an complet après la fin de l’écriture de « The Vampire Bride » (la mariée du vampire).
Pendant plusieurs mois j’ai vraiment pensé finir l’album avec le titre « The Vampire Bride ». Ce n’est que 3 ou 4 mois seulement avant sa sortie que j’ai décidé d’ajouter en bonus le remix du titre « City Of Dreams » pour ne pas finir l’album sur un titre aussi tonitruant et brutal que « The Vampire Bride » (la mariée du vampire).
Même si « City Of Dreams » (la cité des rêves) a été écrit le 25 juillet 2024 soit un mois entier après « The Vampire Bride » qui a été écrit entre le 9 et le 11 juin 2024, il est pourtant sorti juste avant. Mais c’est la suite logique de cet album c’est pour ça que j’ai décidé de rajouter « City Of Dreams » à la fin de l’album pour le finir d’une manière plus douce et cool.
