« We Will Make You Proud » is the first single taken from the singles retrospective « SINGLES Volume 3 ». It was released on Friday, July 10th 2026
It contains the following tracks :

I was in a very euphoric state when I wrote this song. I was under no drugs at all but I was very happy at this stage of my life.
There are times in life when everything seems to be fine and go the way you want things to go and when it does you feel like you can do no wrong and that you’re indestructible or something.
That’s exactly how I felt when I wrote these 2 songs back to back « We Will Make You Proud » where I wanted everyone to be as happy as I was : this state you’re in when you’re so happy that you make all your friends and family members gifts out of the blue because you want them to feel as happy as you as at the the moment.
And « The Best We Can » : this song is about the feeling you’re in again when everything in life goes your way and you feel you cannot do otherwise but to behave in the best way possible to others to as not to jinx your life.
These 2 songs we written right after the 11th album : « ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY » just like « City Of Dreams » and its b-side to come « The Nightmare Is On » even though in the end they got released first.
When writing the album there were tracks I felt very proud of because they were very innovative and that’s the tracks than ended up on the album (minus tracks 5, 2 and 7 maybe).
And at the same time there were lots of tracks that were not as innovative and were practictly all techno music and that’s the tracks that most of the time ended up as extra-tracks or besides for the singles of that era.
These kind of techno tracks were extra-tracks to come on the soon coming singles : « Where Do I Go From Here », « Listen To Your Higher Self », « Envy Is Hell », « A Dangerous Man » and « Time For A New Party ».
These tracks were fine and I love them all but I felt they were not up to the level and quality of the tracks that ended up on the album in the end. At least that’s the way I felt.
But put back to back with « We Will Make You Proud » and « The Best We Can » they could have made one hell of a techno record. When collected on the next volume of the BESIDES restrospective CD, it will certainly feel this way.

The other brand new song « City Of Dreams » which was also written for this new singles retrospective « SINGLES Volume 3 » will also be released on single next month in a new edited version. This single will be released on August 7th 2026.

« We Will Make You Proud » est le 1er single extrait de la rétrospective « SINGLES Volume 3 ». Ce single est sorti le vendredi 10 juillet 2026

J’étais très heureux, presque dans un état euphorique quand j’ai écrit ces morceaux. C’est arrivé sans aucune drogue, j’étais juste très heureux comme quand tout va bien dans ma vie.
Il a des jours comme ça dans la vie où on a l’impression que tout va pour le mieux. Alors on se sent presque invincible tellement on se sent capable de tout faire sans jamais faire d’erreur. Un sentiment incroyable, très rare mais qui arrive parfois.
Et c’est exactement comem cela que je me sentais lorsque j’ai écrit ces 2 titres, à la fois « We Will Make You Proud » où je souhaitais que tout le monde soit aussi heureux que je l’étais sur ce moment.
Du coup j’ai fait des cadeaux à tous ceux que j’aimais à ce moment-là, à la fois les membres de ma famille mais aussi mes amis car je voulais qu’ils se sentent tous aussi bien que je me sentais à ce moment-là.
Et le titre « The Best We Can » : c’est pareil. Les paroles décrivent ce sentiment où tout va bien dans votre vie et du coup on se sent presque une responsabilité de toujours se conduire bien pour ne pas vous porter la poisse dans votre vie.
Bien qu’ils étaient sortis avant, ces 2 titres ont été écrits juste après l’album 11 « ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY » tout comme le titre « City Of Dreams » et sa face B à venir : « The Nightmare Is On ».
Lorsque j’ai écrit mon 11ème album, il y avait des titres dont j’étais très fier car ils me semblaient assez innovateurs (en gros tout l’album à l’exception peut-être des titres 5, 2 et 7).
Et puis, j’ai écrit aussi en même temps beaucoup de morceaux que je sentais sans doute un peu moins novateurs et qui étaient tous des titres un peu techno et ces titres-là vont souvent finir en temps que face B ou titres bonus dans les 4 ou 5 singles à venir.
Ces titres techno sont : « Where Do I Go From Here », « Listen To Your Higher Self », « Envy Is Hell », « A Dangerous Man » et « Time For A New Party ».
Ces titres sont aussi très bien mais je sentais quelque part qu’ils n’étaient pas au même niveau de qualité et d’exigence que les titres qui composent le 11ème album. Enfin c’est mon ressenti.
Mais mis bout à bout avec les titres « We Will Make You Proud » et « The Best We Can » ils auraient tous très bien pu composer un sacré album techno et quand ils seront collectés dans le prochain volume BESIDES, mes restrospectives de face B et de titres bonus, ils sembleront bien faire un album de techno indépendant. Et ils auraient pu faire un album séparé et à part entière, si il y en avait eu 1 ou 2 de plus.

L’autre chanson inédite « City Of Dreams » qui a été écrite pour figurer également sur la compilation « SINGLES Volume 3 » sortira également en single dans une nouvelle version raccourcie le mois prochain. Ce single sortira le vendredi 7 août 2026.
