\u00ab Nothing Will Ruin My Day Today \u00bb is like an Irish ballad which isn’t a ballad. But I thought it was a welcoming change of style in my music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This track wasn’t really supposed to become a single, more like an album track but each time someone listens to this album, they seemed impressed by this one, so in the end I thought, ok so why not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lyrics are quite optimistic and are saying that, if you decide it, each day can become a great day for you, you only have to decide it will be a great day and it will. I kind of like that mind over matter way of thinking. Even though sometimes it doesn’t work but sometimes it will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2nd track \u00ab Listen To Your Higher Self \u00bb is one of those techno tracks I did before knowing what direction the album was going to take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Often when I write for a brand new album, I got 3 things on my mind : <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 \/ the new songs have to be very different from the previous album’s atmosphere, add something real new or be, at least, of the same quality of the album before (which is going to be a problem for the album that will follow an album as good as the current one : \u00ab ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 \/ the brand new album could have an 1980’s feel or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 \/ the brand new album could have a very modern approch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evey time I write an album I think about these 3 things : 1 it has to be different 2 it will have an 80’s feel or 3 it will have a very modern feel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So in this case I didn’t thought the direction of the first songs written \u00ab Where Do I Go From Here ? \u00bb or \u00ab Listen To Your Higher Self \u00bb was a good direction in spite of their enthusiastic feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I keep writing and writing until songs like \u00ab I Still Love You \u00bb or \u00ab Living The High Life \u00bb came along and then I thought to myself \u00ab Yes ! Eureka ! \u00bb this is what I really really want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Living The High Life \u00bb was supposed to be the 2nd single taken from the album because I love this song very very much. I think it’s quite unique but I had a problem when I wanted to make an extended version of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the sounds of this song was lost right after its recording so I couldn’t make a proper extended version of it. That’s when I thought of \u00ab Nothing Will Ruin My Day Today \u00bb to replace it. That’s why \u00ab Living The High Life \u00bb is also present on this E.P. as track number 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of an unwanted software update, the VST that had all the sounds of this song got an update and on this update the trumpet sound of the song was no longer present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was not very professional of me but these things happen I guess. But it was a valuable lesson for me now as soon as I finish a project, right away I export all the sounds individually so this stupid thing will never ever happened to me again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Nothing Will Ruin My Day Today \u00bb est comme une balade irlandaise qui n’est pas une ballade. Mais j’ai pens\u00e9 que c’\u00e9tait un changement int\u00e9ressant et bienvenu de style dans ma musique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce titre n’\u00e9tait pas destin\u00e9 \u00e0 devenir un single au d\u00e9part, mais \u00e0 chaque fois que je faisais \u00e9couter cet album \u00e0 des personnes, toutes \u00e9taient impressionn\u00e9es par l’\u00e9nergie de ce morceau, alors je me suis dit pourquoi pas apr\u00e8s tout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les paroles de ce morceau sont tr\u00e8s optimistes et disent en fait que si on le d\u00e9cide, on peut passer une journ\u00e9e extraordinaire o\u00f9 tout se passera comme on l’a souhait\u00e9 et qu’il suffit de le d\u00e9sirer. J’aime cette id\u00e9e que l’esprit puisse dominer la mati\u00e8re car souvent c’est le cas m\u00eame si dans de rares cas \u00e7a ne l’est pas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le 2\u00e8me morceau \u00ab\u00a0Listen To Your Higher Self \u00bb fait partie de ces titres techno que j’ai compos\u00e9 au tout d\u00e9but de l’\u00e9criture de cet album lorsque je ne savais pas encore quelle direction sonore exacte allait prendre cet album..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Souvent quand je commence \u00e0 \u00e9crire un nouvel album, j’ai 3 choses importantes \u00e0 l’esprit :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 \/ les nouveaux morceaux doivent absolument \u00eatre diff\u00e9rents de l’ambiance sonore de l’album pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent. Ils doivent aussi apporter quelque chose de frais et de nouveau par rapport aux titres pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents et m\u00eame \u00eatre au minimum aussi bons que les titres de l’album pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent voire m\u00eame meilleurs dans l’id\u00e9al : ce qui va \u00eatre un r\u00e9el probl\u00e8me dans le cas d’un album aux titres excellents comme le dernier : \u00ab\u00a0ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 \/ le nouvel album peut avoir une ambiance style musiques des ann\u00e9es 80 ou<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 \/ le nouvel album peut avoir un style de musique plus contemporain et moderne<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A chaque fois que j’\u00e9cris un nouvel album je pense \u00e0 ces 3 choses : 1 le nouveau disque doit sonner diff\u00e9rent du pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent 2 il peut avoir un style tr\u00e8s ann\u00e9es 80 ou 3 au contraire avoir un style plus ancr\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 2000 et au d\u00e9l\u00e0 pour avoir un son r\u00e9solument moderne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donc dans le cas des premiers titres \u00e9crits pour ce nouvel album : \u00ab\u00a0Where Do I Go From Here ? \u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0Listen To Your Higher Self \u00bb je n’\u00e9tais pas persuad\u00e9 qu’il s’agissait l\u00e0 d’une bonne direction pour le nouvel album en d\u00e9pit de l’enthousiasme \u00e9vident de ces morceaux-l\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aussi j’ai continu\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9crire et \u00e0 \u00e9crire jusqu’\u00e0 ce qu’arrivent des morceaux comme \u00ab\u00a0I Still Love You \u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0Living The High Life \u00bb et l\u00e0 alors tout de suite j’ai pens\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Enfin, oui ! Eureka ! \u00bb voici la direction qu’il faut prendre pour ce nouveau disque, c’est exactement \u00e7a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En toute honn\u00eatet\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Living The High Life \u00bb \u00e9tait cens\u00e9 \u00eatre le 2\u00e8me single extrait de cet album car j’aime \u00e9norm\u00e9ment ce morceau. Je trouve assez unique dans ses sons utilis\u00e9s et dans son ambiance. Mais il y a eu un probl\u00e8me ind\u00e9pendant de ma volont\u00e9 qui m’a emp\u00eache d’en faire plus tard une version longue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un des sons utilis\u00e9s sur ce morceau a disparu tout de suite apr\u00e8s son enregistrement, ce qui s’est av\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00eatre un probl\u00e8me au moment de vouloir faire sa version longue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A la suite d’une mise \u00e0 jour logicielle non souhait\u00e9, le VST qui d\u00e9tenait tous les sons du morceau en a fait dispara\u00eetre un : le son de trompette, du coup impossible de le r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer pour faire la version longue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce n’est pas tr\u00e8s profesionnel de ma part de ne pas avoir pris de pr\u00e9cautions mais cela m’a appris une le\u00e7on tr\u00e8s importante. D\u00e9sormais d\u00e8s qu’un morceau est finalis\u00e9, j’exporte imm\u00e9diatement tous ses sons et toutes ses pistes de fa\u00e7on s\u00e9par\u00e9es. Ainsi ce genre d’incident ne se produire plus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est \u00e0 la suite de cet incident que la question du remplacement du titre \u00ab\u00a0Living The High Life \u00bb en tant que 2\u00e8me single par \u00ab\u00a0Nothing Will Ruin My Day Today \u00bb s’est impos\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
