As often between my albums there was a gap of 8 or 9 months where I was trying to make songs but couldn’t. Then they almost all came as a geyser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of songs were techno-like sounding which I wasn’t very thrilled about but some of them were more like EDM\/Electro which was a pleasant change after 2 albums of mostly dark stuff (both in themes and musically).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This track was one of the first written. I just look my dog to a terrible condition (he had a hard time breathing and his condition could only worsen so I had to put him down even though I loved him very much : he had been with me for more than 12 years).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So after that I was at the same time very sad and very angry. And the anger really got to me when I wrote this song. Hence the slapping drums (as my sister put it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn’t want another dog (it would have seem like a betrayal of my love for him : his name was Gipsy) so a month or so later as I felt so lonely I decided to get a cat instead (my new cat-girl Millie).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This situation led me to write this song called \u00ab I Still Love You \u00bb is which I say in the lyrics that I still have love for both in my heart (my lost dog and my new-found cat girl).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite it’s dark roots it’s a very uplifting and smashing song which I love very much obviously since I decided to start the new album with it. And this song impresses every listener it seems and I’m very pleased about that (some of my friends even said to me at the time of release : this song is a real banger ! lol).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As b-sides to all the \u00ab ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY \u00bb singles you will find some of the techno-inspired songs that were written as the time. And some of them are quite good even though they didn’t quite fit the electro mood of the album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Where Do I Go From Here ? \u00bb is such a song. My sister told me it sounded like Daft Punk. Maybe. I really couldn’t say since I’m not very familiar with their songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme souvent entre mes albums il y a eu l\u00e0-aussi un \u00e9cart de 9 neuf mois entre la composition de l’album pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent et celui-ci. Puis tous les titres sont venus \u00e0 la suite un peu comme l’explosion d’un vocal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tous les titres compos\u00e9s au d\u00e9but sonnaient tr\u00e8s techno, ce qui ne m’a pas toujours emball\u00e9 c’est vrai. Puis ensuite les titres suivants sonnaient plus comme de l’\u00e9lectro et de l’EDM, ce qui fut un agr\u00e9able changement apr\u00e8s 2 albums particuli\u00e8rement sombres (dans les th\u00e8mes et la musique). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un de ces premiers titres \u00e9crit \u00e9tait \u00ab I Still Love You \u00bb. Je venais tout juste de perdre mon chien d’une terrible affliction (qui faisait qu’il avait du mal \u00e0 respirer et qui ne pouvait qu’empirer) aussi j’ai d\u00fb \u00eatre forc\u00e9 de l’euthanasier alors que je l’aimais \u00e9norment : on avait v\u00e9cu ensemble pendant plus de 12 ans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donc apr\u00e8s cette \u00e9preuve, j’\u00e9tais \u00e0 la fois tr\u00e8s triste et tr\u00e8s en col\u00e8re. Et la col\u00e8re est vraiment ce qui m’a pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9crire ce titre d’o\u00f9 son incroyable \u00e9nergie qui comprend une batterie puissante qui donne l’impression qu’on donne des baffes (comme dirait ma soeur lol).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je ne voulais donc pas d’un autre chien (en prendre un autre aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 comme de trahir notre amour commun, mon chien d\u00e9funt s’appelait Gipsy) donc \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s un mois apr\u00e8s son d\u00e9c\u00e8s pour soulager ma peine, j’ai d\u00e9cider d’acheter un chat (mon petit chat femmelle : Millie).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tout cela m’avait alors pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9crire ce titre \u00ab I Still Love You \u00bb et la raison pour laquelle dans les paroles j’y parle du fait que mon coeur est assez grand pour aimer \u00e0 la fois mon chien perdu r\u00e9cemment Gipsy et ma nouvelle petite chatte chipie Millie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donc en d\u00e9pit de ses racines sombres, cela a donn\u00e9 un titre \u00e0 la fois tr\u00e8s \u00e9nergique et tr\u00e8s enjou\u00e9 que j’aime beaucoup et c’est la raison pour laquelle j’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de commencer ce nouvel album avec ce titre. Et comme me l’a dit r\u00e9cemment un de mes amis en l’\u00e9coutant pour la premi\u00e8re fois (ce titre est vrai banger !) ah ah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 2\u00e8me titre pour ce single comme pour tous les singles \u00e0 venir extrait de l’album \u00ab ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY \u00bb vous trouverez des titres souvent tr\u00e8s techno qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crits \u00e0 la m\u00eame p\u00e9riode. Et certains d’entre eux sont d’ailleurs assez r\u00e9ussi m\u00eame si ils ne sont pas le m\u00eame style ou la m\u00eame ambiance que le reste de ce 11\u00e8me album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Where Do I Go From Here ?\u00a0\u00bb fait parti de ces morceaux. Ma soeur m’a dit que ce morceau ressemblait \u00e0 du Daft Punk. Sans doute. Ma connaissance de leur musique \u00e9tant tr\u00e8s limit\u00e9e, je suis incapable de dire si elle a raison ou pas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
