\u00ab We Will Make You Proud \u00bb is the first single taken from the singles retrospective \u00ab SINGLES Volume 3 \u00bb. It was released on Friday, July 10th 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was in a very euphoric state when I wrote this song. I was under no drugs at all but I was very happy at this stage of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are times in life when everything seems to be fine and go the way you want things to go and when it does you feel like you can do no wrong and that you’re indestructible or something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s exactly how I felt when I wrote these 2 songs back to back \u00ab We Will Make You Proud \u00bb where I wanted everyone to be as happy as I was : this state you’re in when you’re so happy that you make all your friends and family members gifts out of the blue because you want them to feel as happy as you as at the the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And \u00ab The Best We Can \u00bb : this song is about the feeling you’re in again when everything in life goes your way and you feel you cannot do otherwise but to behave in the best way possible to others to as not to jinx your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These 2 songs we written right after the 11th album : \u00ab ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY \u00bb just like \u00ab City Of Dreams \u00bb and its b-side to come \u00ab The Nightmare Is On \u00bb even though in the end they got released first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When writing the album there were tracks I felt very proud of because they were very innovative and that’s the tracks than ended up on the album (minus tracks 5, 2 and 7 maybe).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And at the same time there were lots of tracks that were not as innovative and were practictly all techno music and that’s the tracks that most of the time ended up as extra-tracks or besides for the singles of that era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These kind of techno tracks were extra-tracks to come on the soon coming singles : \u00ab Where Do I Go From Here \u00bb, \u00ab Listen To Your Higher Self \u00bb, \u00ab Envy Is Hell \u00bb, \u00ab A Dangerous Man \u00bb and \u00ab Time For A New Party \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These tracks were fine and I love them all but I felt they were not up to the level and quality of the tracks that ended up on the album in the end. At least that’s the way I felt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But put back to back with \u00ab We Will Make You Proud \u00bb and \u00ab The Best We Can \u00bb they could have made one hell of a techno record. When collected on the next volume of the BESIDES restrospective CD, it will certainly feel this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’\u00e9tais tr\u00e8s heureux, presque dans un \u00e9tat euphorique quand j’ai \u00e9crit ces morceaux. C’est arriv\u00e9 sans aucune drogue, j’\u00e9tais juste tr\u00e8s heureux comme quand tout va bien dans ma vie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il a des jours comme \u00e7a dans la vie o\u00f9 on a l’impression que tout va pour le mieux. Alors on se sent presque invincible tellement on se sent capable de tout faire sans jamais faire d’erreur. Un sentiment incroyable, tr\u00e8s rare mais qui arrive parfois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et c’est exactement comem cela que je me sentais lorsque j’ai \u00e9crit ces 2 titres, \u00e0 la fois \u00ab\u00a0We Will Make You Proud\u00a0\u00bb o\u00f9 je souhaitais que tout le monde soit aussi heureux que je l’\u00e9tais sur ce moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Du coup j’ai fait des cadeaux \u00e0 tous ceux que j’aimais \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0, \u00e0 la fois les membres de ma famille mais aussi mes amis car je voulais qu’ils se sentent tous aussi bien que je me sentais \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et le titre \u00ab\u00a0The Best We Can\u00a0\u00bb : c’est pareil. Les paroles d\u00e9crivent ce sentiment o\u00f9 tout va bien dans votre vie et du coup on se sent presque une responsabilit\u00e9 de toujours se conduire bien pour ne pas vous porter la poisse dans votre vie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bien qu’ils \u00e9taient sortis avant, ces 2 titres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crits juste apr\u00e8s l’album 11 \u00ab\u00a0ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY\u00a0\u00bb tout comme le titre \u00ab\u00a0City Of Dreams\u00a0\u00bb et sa face B \u00e0 venir : \u00ab\u00a0The Nightmare Is On\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lorsque j’ai \u00e9crit mon 11\u00e8me album, il y avait des titres dont j’\u00e9tais tr\u00e8s fier car ils me semblaient assez innovateurs (en gros tout l’album \u00e0 l’exception peut-\u00eatre des titres 5, 2 et 7). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et puis, j’ai \u00e9crit aussi en m\u00eame temps beaucoup de morceaux que je sentais sans doute un peu moins novateurs et qui \u00e9taient tous des titres un peu techno et ces titres-l\u00e0 vont souvent finir en temps que face B ou titres bonus dans les 4 ou 5 singles \u00e0 venir. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ces titres techno sont : \u00ab\u00a0Where Do I Go From Here\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Listen To Your Higher Self\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Envy Is Hell\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0A Dangerous Man\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Time For A New Party\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ces titres sont aussi tr\u00e8s bien mais je sentais quelque part qu’ils n’\u00e9taient pas au m\u00eame niveau de qualit\u00e9 et d’exigence que les titres qui composent le 11\u00e8me album. Enfin c’est mon ressenti. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais mis bout \u00e0 bout avec les titres \u00ab\u00a0We Will Make You Proud\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0The Best We Can\u00a0\u00bb ils auraient tous tr\u00e8s bien pu composer un sacr\u00e9 album techno et quand ils seront collect\u00e9s dans le prochain volume BESIDES, mes restrospectives de face B et de titres bonus, ils sembleront bien faire un album de techno ind\u00e9pendant. Et ils auraient pu faire un album s\u00e9par\u00e9 et \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re, si il y en avait eu 1 ou 2 de plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
