On Friday, February 6th 2026 was released \u00ab On Your Own Volition \u00bb, the 5th and final single taken from the 9th album \u00ab KING OF THE NIGHT \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It contains the following tracks : <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. ON YOUR OWN VOLITION extended mix 7:22<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were many singles choices available on the album for the 5th and final single taken from the album : \u00ab KING OF THE NIGHT \u00bb. \u00ab The Devil In A Three-Piece-Suit \u00bb was one, the very unusual sounding \u00ab Dots Your I’s And Cross Your T’s \u00bb was another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This last one would have made a terrific Christmas single. But it’s when I listen to the whole album with my friends and that one of them said \u00ab oh this is very unusual for you \u00bb listening to \u00ab On Your Own Volition \u00bb that I realise the impact this track could make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it was a very unusual sounding music for me it’s true. But that’s precisely what makes it truly unique I think. And even though releasing \u00ab The Devil In A Three-Piece-Suit \u00bb would have made perfect sense, I chose the path usually not followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone listening to the album was also always very impressed with \u00ab Ready For Another World \u00bb and even though it’s a really dynamic and surprising track, I found it maybe a little too repetitive and agressive, but it could have made sense to release this one as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this time, since the first track \u00ab On Your Own Volition \u00bb has a kind of dark vibe, I wanted on the contrary a very upbeat and positive (almost) na\u00efve music for the extra-track or b-side for this single. Then \u00ab Beautiful And Brittle \u00bb was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s probably one of my best extra-track music not to be featured on an album. Like \u00ab Sweet Little Death \u00bb who’s becomed my most-played b-side with more than 1.800 streams on the Internet, I bet this one will also gain quite an attraction since it’s so positive and joyful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But since \u00ab KING OF THE NIGHT \u00bb had such a dark techno-dance atmosphere, I thought the dark and broody \u00ab On Your Own Volition \u00bb made sense as the last single.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next single \u00ab Something’s Wrong \u00bb will also have a very dark atmosphere but it will be much more memorable I think with its beautiful melody sound and powerful drums. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next album will be much more pop than the album \u00ab KING OF THE NIGHT \u00bb was, but the first single in contrast is more industrial dark new-wave than poppy’s pop. That’s how my work always has a kind of continuity to it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing I do is totally random. I’m not on an all savy-industry-calculated-moves kind of guy but I know exactly what I want and what I don’t want. And I never forget the bigger picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everytime I release several singles from an album in a row, I always think what would the complete singles collection would sound like. That’s why I never release 2 samey-sounding singles in a row. There’s always change and challenges in a corner of my mind, always.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve learned from the best with the bands I admire (like Depeche Mode releasing the pop \u00ab Enjoy The Silence \u00bb right after the dark \u00ab Personal
Jesus \u00bb or Pet Shop Boys releasing the pop-friendly \u00ab Go West \u00bb right after the aggressively-sounding \u00ab Can You Forgive Her \u00bb. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Single 50 On Your Own Volition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le vendredi 6 f\u00e9vrier 2026 est sorti \u00ab On Your Own Volition \u00bb, le 5\u00e8me et dernier extrait du 9\u00e8me album \u00ab KING OF THE NIGHT \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il contient les titres suivants :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il y avait beaucoup de choix possibles comme singles pour le 5\u00e8me et dernier extrait de l’album : \u00ab KING OF THE NIGHT \u00bb. \u00ab The Devil In A Three-Piece-Suit \u00bb \u00e9tait une de ses possibilit\u00e9s, et le titre qui sonne tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent comme \u00ab Dots Your I’s And Cross Your T’s \u00bb en \u00e9tait un autre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce dernier titre en particulier aurait pu faire un excellent single de No\u00ebL. Mais \u00e0 chaque fois que j’\u00e9coutais cet album avec ma famille et mes amis, l’un d’entre eux m’a dit \u00ab oh ce titre l\u00e0 sonne diff\u00e9rent pour toi \u00bb en \u00e9coutant \u00ab On Your Own Volition \u00bb c’est l\u00e0 que j’ai un peu r\u00e9alis\u00e9 l’impact de ce morceau. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et c’est vrai que c’est un titre qui sonne tr\u00e8s peu moi quelque part. Mais c’est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment ce qui le rend unique, je crois. Alors m\u00eame si sortir \u00ab The Devil In A Three-Piece-Suit \u00bb en single m’aurait paru totaltement logique, j’ai choisi la route rarement emprunt\u00e9e \u00e0 la place de l’\u00e9vidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sinon tous ceux qui \u00e9coutaient l’album en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral trouvait le titre \u00ab Ready For Another World \u00bb tr\u00e8s impressionnant et m\u00eame si je trouve ce morceau tr\u00e8s dynamique et surprenant, je le trouvais aussi un peu trop r\u00e9p\u00e9titif et agressif mais \u00e7a aurait pu \u00eatre un bon single \u00e9galement c’est vrai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et cette fois-ci comme le titre 1 du single \u00ab On Your Own Volition \u00bb avait une ambiance un peu sombre et\/ou m\u00e9lancolique, je voulais au contraire en titre 2 un morceau tr\u00e8s positif, na\u00eff et presque sautillant. Ainsi le titre \u00ab Beautiful And Brittle \u00bb \u00e9tait n\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce titre est probablement une de mes meilleures face B ou morceau bonus donn\u00e9 sur les singles et \u00e0 ne pas figurer sur un de mes albums. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme \u00ab Sweet Little Death \u00bb qui est devenu mon morceau le plus \u00e9cout\u00e9 sur Internet avec plus de 1 800 \u00e9coutes, je ne doute pas une seconde que ce morceau se fera une part belle en \u00e9coutes \u00e9galement tellement il est positif et joyeux. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais comme mon album \u00ab KING OF THE NIGHT \u00bb avait une ambiance si sombre et techno-dance, j’ai pens\u00e9 qu’un titre aussi sombre et m\u00e9lancolique que \u00ab On Your Own Volition \u00bb faisait sens en tant que dernier single extrait de l’album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bien que le single suivant \u00ab Something’s Wrong \u00bb aura aussi une atmosph\u00e8re tr\u00e8s sombre et violente mais il sera beaucoup plus m\u00e9morable \u00e0 mon humble avis avec sa batterie pleine d’\u00e9chos et son tr\u00e8s beau son de m\u00e9lodie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le prochain album sera beaucoup plus pop et vari\u00e9 que \u00ab KING OF THE NIGHT \u00bb, mais le premier single qui en sera tir\u00e9 en contraste sonnera lui beaucoup plus new wave sombre et avec une musique d’ambiance presque industrielle. C’est ainsi que le tente de conserver une certaine continuit\u00e9 et une logique dans mes oeuvres musicales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rien de ce que je fais n’est compl\u00e8tement al\u00e9atoire. Je ne suis en rien calculateur et manipulateur comme peuvent l’\u00eatre les majors, les maisons de disques classiques o\u00f9 tout est \u00e9tudi\u00e9 au milim\u00e8tre pr\u00e8s mais je garde toujours sur mon oeuvre une id\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale d’ensemble quoiqu’il arrive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chaque fois que je sors plusieurs singles \u00e0 la suite d’un m\u00eame album, je pense toujours \u00e0 l’\u00e9coute d\u00e9finitive que donnera plus tard le best of de tous les singles si un jour j’en fais un. C’est pour \u00e7a que je sors rarement 2 titres lents \u00e0 la suite ou 2 titres trop dansants \u00e0 la suite. Je pense \u00e0 toujours conserver un certain \u00e9quilibre, toujours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai appris avec les meilleurs : les groupes que j’ai aim\u00e9 quand j’\u00e9tais plus jeune (comme le groupe Depeche Mode par exemple qui ne sortait le tr\u00e8s pop \u00ab Enjoy The Silence \u00bb tout de suite apr\u00e8s le plus personnel et sombre titre \u00ab Personal Jesus \u00bb ou encore les Pet Shop Boys qui ont sorti le tr\u00e8s pop-dance \u00ab Go West \u00bb (leur reprise des Village People) tout de suite apr\u00e8s le tr\u00e8s agressif \u00ab Can You Forgive Her \u00bb. Tout est toujours une question d’\u00e9quilibre dans la pop. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
