On Friday, August 2nd 2024, \u00ab\u00a0Fun But Futile World\u00a0\u00bb the fifth and final single from the 6th album \u00ab\u00a0RETROACTIVE FIRE\u00a0\u00bb was released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea behind the album \u00ab\u00a0RETROACTIVE FIRE\u00a0\u00bb was to make a parenthesis between 2 super dance albums which are \u00ab\u00a0POP STORM\u00a0\u00bb the 4th and \u00ab\u00a0CRAZY BEATS…\u00a0\u00bb the next even if the fith album \u00ab\u00a05\u00a0\u00bb ended up in the middle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So \u00ab\u00a0RETROACTIVE FIRE\u00a0\u00bb was supposed to be all-pop with no dance and no electronic at all. So tracks like \u00ab\u00a0A Unique Love\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Serenity\u00a0\u00bb and \u00ab\u00a0Oh Tina\u00a0\u00bb were made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in the end, I started to make more and more electronic and dance stuff again and that’s where \u00ab\u00a0Fun But Futile World\u00a0\u00bb came first to fruition with even more dance\/techno tracks after that like \u00ab\u00a0RetroActive Fire\u00a0\u00bb & \u00ab\u00a0My Uncontrollable Friend\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So \u00ab\u00a0Fun But Futile World\u00a0\u00bb has a little bit of electronic on it but it’s very lightweight electronic just like on 80’s stuff that was being made before the techno revolution of ’88 and ’89.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like this track a lot because I was glad I was coming close to what the Pet Shop Boys or Sandra were making in ’86 or ’87 and that was the point really for this album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like always for the B-side or extra-track for singles, I have a little bit more fun. That’s when I made the track \u00ab\u00a0Live In A Bubble \u00bb which has a sound that reminds me of the odd Theremin instrument that sounds a lot like the sound used in The Original Star Trek music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a blast doing this and its probably the music made by me that sounds the most strange. But I love it for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then of course, I made an extended version of \u00ab\u00a0Fun But Futile World\u00a0\u00bb like on most of my singles. This 3-track single can be heard or bought like always on my original Bandcamp page : <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’id\u00e9e derni\u00e8re l’album \u00ab\u00a0RETROACTIVE FIRE\u00a0\u00bb \u00e9tait de faire une parenth\u00e8se enchant\u00e9e entre 2 albums super dance que sont \u00ab\u00a0POP STORM\u00a0\u00bb mon 4\u00e8me album and \u00ab\u00a0CRAZY BEATS…\u00a0\u00bb qui sera le 7\u00e8me et suivant, m\u00eame si \u00ab\u00a05\u00a0\u00bb le 5\u00e8me album a fini au milieu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et \u00ab\u00a0RETROACTIVE FIRE\u00a0\u00bb devait \u00eatre \u00e0 l’origine uniquement pop et avec z\u00e9ro titres dance ou super \u00e9lectroniques comme les autres albums. C’est dans cette optique qu’ont \u00e9t\u00e9 produit des titres comme \u00ab\u00a0A Unique Love\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Serenity\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Oh Tina\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais chassez le naturel et il revient au galop et au bout du compte j’ai recommenc\u00e9 \u00e0 mettre un peu d’\u00e9lectronique ici et l\u00e0 comme sur \u00ab\u00a0Fun But Futile World\u00a0\u00bb et les 3 premiers titres de l’album et puis j’ai fini par faire des titres de plus en plus \u00e9lectroniques et techno et ainsi sont n\u00e9s \u00ab\u00a0RetroActive Fire\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0My Uncontrollable Friend\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donc \u00ab\u00a0Fun But Futile World\u00a0\u00bb a une petite touche d’\u00e9lectronique seulement, un peu comme la musique qui \u00e9tait produite en ’86\/’87 par des artistes comme Sandra ou des groupes comme les Pet Shop Boys et c’\u00e9tait l\u00e0 un peu le style que je voulais obtenir pour ce 6\u00e8me album. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme souvent pour la face B d’un single ou son titre bonus, je m’amuse un peu plus en m’affranchissant de toutes les r\u00e8gles que je pouvais m’imposer pour un album et ainsi est n\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Live In A Bubble \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est un titre qui comprend un son tr\u00e8s \u00e9trange qui ressemble un peu \u00e0 une th\u00e9ramine, un instrument au son \u00e9trange qui ressemble celui utilis\u00e9 au g\u00e9n\u00e9rique de la s\u00e9rie Star Trek classique. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je me suis \u00e9clat\u00e9 \u00e0 faire ce titre aussi \u00e9trange que remuant. C’est sans doute mon titre le plus bizarre et j’aime aussi pour sa bizarrerie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et bien s\u00fbr en dernier titre de ce single se trouve la version longue habituelle faite pour le titre \u00ab\u00a0Fun But Futile World\u00a0\u00bb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
