\u00ab\u00a0Retroactive fire\u00a0\u00bb : the 2nd single taken from the 6th album of the same name was released on Friday May 3rd 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike the first single of the album \u00ab\u00a0Knock Yourself Out\u00a0\u00bb which had a very distinctive 80’s\/90’s feel, \u00ab\u00a0Retroactive fire\u00a0\u00bb has definitely a 90’s\/2000’s feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Title track of the album of the same name, it’s one of my most energetic song. One of the very few energetic songs of that album which was a more reflective album that most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This album was written right after \u00ab\u00a0POP STORM\u00a0\u00bb which already had a 90’s dance feel which is no luck since both albums were written back to back. The nex album will also be in this vein. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2nd track of this single \u00ab\u00a0Final Goodbye\u00a0\u00bb was originally a remixed version of an old Alphaville track from 1985 called \u00ab\u00a0A Victory Of Love\u00a0\u00bb which I ironically called \u00ab\u00a0Alpha Victory\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was experimenting in my \u00ab\u00a0recording studio\u00a0\u00bb I was amazed to find the exact same sound that the band Alphaville used on that song so I decided to have fun with it. So I took the main melody of that song and I tried my best to \u00ab\u00a0modernize\u00a0\u00bb it with dance sounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, for copyright issues I couldn’t use my \u00ab\u00a0Alpha Victory\u00a0\u00bb track unless I tried to contact Marian Gold & Alphaville themselves which I am a very big fan of. So I decided to took that \u00ab\u00a0melodylike sample\u00a0\u00bb out and modify the track for it to try to work without it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newsflash : I failed miserably. lol Maybe someday I will publish \u00ab\u00a0Alpha Victory\u00a0\u00bb on Youtube or something but of course I could never sell it. But even though I like this b-side \u00ab\u00a0Final Goodbye\u00a0\u00bb very much, I still prefer the \u00ab\u00a0Alpha Victory\u00a0\u00bb version. lol<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final track of this single is the usual extended remix of \u00ab\u00a0Retroactive Fire\u00a0\u00bb which is indeed quite unusual in the fact that all the parts are completely randomized compared to the usual single or album versions but the beggining of this remix is breathtaking, I love it !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One last word about this single : the cover : I had a blast organising my coloured lighters but making sure there will be no visible known brands in this picture (like Bic or whatever) to avoid any copyright problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An alternate sleeve of this one was in fact also supposed to be on the album too but at the last minute, I decided that the new album deserved something better and more elaborate than this so I decided otherwise and I think I was right to change it although I like this one too, it’s fresh and original I think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contrairement au 1er single de l’album \u00ab\u00a0Knock Yourself Out\u00a0\u00bb qui avait une ambiance tr\u00e8s ann\u00e9es 80’s\/90’s, le single \u00ab\u00a0Retroactive Fire\u00a0\u00bb, lui, a d\u00e9finitivement une ambiance tr\u00e8s ann\u00e9es 90\/2000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chanson-titre de l’album du m\u00eame nom, \u00ab\u00a0Retroactive Fire\u00a0\u00bb est l’un de mes titres les plus \u00e9nergiques. Un des rares titres \u00e9nergiques de cet album d’ailleurs, qui, lui avait un style plus calme et r\u00e9flectif que mes albums pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents et m\u00eames suivants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cet album a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crit en 2019\/2020 tout de suite apr\u00e8s l’album \u00ab\u00a0POP STORM\u00a0\u00bb qui avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 un style et une ambiance tr\u00e8s dance des ann\u00e9es 90’s. Ce qui n’est pas un hasard car les 2 albums ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crits dos \u00e0 dos. Le prochain album sera \u00e9galement dans cette veine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le 2nd titre de ce single \u00ab\u00a0Final Goodbye\u00a0\u00bb a \u00e9t\u00e9 originellement \u00e9crit comme une version remix\u00e9e d’un vieux titre du groupe Alphaville de 1985 appel\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0A Victory Of Love\u00a0\u00bb que j’avais ironiquement appel\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Alpha Victory\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quand j’exp\u00e9rimentais dans mon \u00ab\u00a0studio\u00a0d’enregistrement \u00bb j’\u00e9tais \u00e9tonn\u00e9 d’avoir trouv\u00e9 compl\u00e8tement par hasard le son exact utilis\u00e9 par le groupe Alphaville au tout d\u00e9but de cette chanson alors du coup j’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de m’amuser un peu avec. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alors j’ai re-cr\u00e9\u00e9 la m\u00e9lodie principale de ce morceau (vu que j’ai trouv\u00e9 le son original ou un son en tout cas qui lui \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s tr\u00e8s proche) et j’ai fait de mon mieux pour \u00ab\u00a0moderniser \u00bb le tout en l’entourant de sons dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bien s\u00fbr, pour \u00e9viter tout probl\u00e8me de copyright, je n’aurais jamais pu pleinement utiliser mon titre \u00ab\u00a0Alpha Victory\u00a0\u00bb sans avoir \u00e0 contacter directement Marian Gold & Alphaville dont je suis un tr\u00e8s grand fan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donc j’ai retir\u00e9 le \u00ab\u00a0sample m\u00e9lodique\u00a0\u00bb recr\u00e9\u00e9 et j’ai modifi\u00e9 le morceau pour tenter de faire en sorte que le morceau fonctionne sans lui. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bien entendu : j’ai \u00e9chou\u00e9 mis\u00e9rablement. lol Peut-\u00eatre qu’un jour je publierais \u00ab\u00a0Alpha Victory\u00a0\u00bb sur Youtube ou ailleurs en cadeau bient\u00f4t, sans le vendre, je ne sais pas. Mais m\u00eame si j’aime bien \u00ab\u00a0Final Goodbye\u00a0\u00bb , je lui pr\u00e9f\u00e8re toujours sa version \u00ab\u00a0Alpha Victory\u00a0\u00bb bien s\u00fbr. lol<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfin, le dernier titre de ce single est la version extended remix de \u00ab\u00a0Retroactive Fire\u00a0\u00bb comme d’habitude mais qui est assez inhabituel car dans ce remix, j’ai mis les parties du single habituel compl\u00e8tement dans le d\u00e9sordre, ce qui le rend tr\u00e8s surprenant mais le d\u00e9but est juste g\u00e9nial et je l’adore ! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un dernier mot sur ce single quand m\u00eame au sujet de sa pochette : je me suis bien amus\u00e9 avec mes briquets de couleur en m’assurant bien qu’ils n’y ait pas de marques genre Bic de visibles sur la photo pour \u00e9viter tout probl\u00e8mes de droits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est un d\u00e9riv\u00e9 de cette pochette qui \u00e9tait \u00e0 l’origine mon id\u00e9e originale pour la pochette de l’album \u00e9galement mais je trouvais aussi que l’album m\u00e9ritait un peu mieux que cette simplicit\u00e9, aussi \u00e0 la derni\u00e8re musique j’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de chercher mieux pour l’album et je crois que j’ai bien fait m\u00eame si j’aime bien cette pochette-ci \u00e9galement, elle est originale et rafra\u00eechissante je trouve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
