\u00ab Life Is Short \u00bb was created as the first single for a brand new album along with 3 other tracks. This album was supposed to sound just like an 80’s album but only those 4 tracks were made before I decided I wanted another direction for the next album so these tracks remained unreleased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like \u00ab Life Is Short \u00bb style, it sounds like a 60’s anthem, I wanted to make a doo-wop style kind of song, a clever blend between Madonna’s song \u00ab True Blue \u00bb, the Spice Girls’ hit \u00ab Stop \u00bb or Pet Shop Boys’ song \u00ab Twenty-Something \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But as I often do, I failed but it still got me a very original and likeable song. Actually it’s one of my forever favorites. \u00ab I’m No Saint \u00bb is a very old song I made for an album called \u00ab Over The Edge \u00bb which will be released as a free album in the coming years. Of course I modernized it here a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this song, I originally wanted to write a song for the Backstreet Boys in order to send it to them, which I never did. But I still think it sounds a lot like a BSB song, so as a fan, I’m very pleased with it. To me I always imagined I would release it as a single one day, hence the existence of the extended mix version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best-of compilation \u00ab Singles Volume 1 \u00bb will be released on Friday, September 8th 2023. It will compile all The Edit King singles from \u00ab Prayers Oh So Strong \u00bb to \u00ab Life Is Short \u00bb. All 22 songs will be available on this release and a brand new single will be out the following month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Life Is Short \u00bb et 3 autres morceaux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9s pour faire partie d’un album \u00e0 venir qui devait sonner tr\u00e8s ann\u00e9es 80. Mais seuls ces 4 titres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 produits avant que je ne d\u00e9cide de changer compl\u00e8tement de direction pour le prochain album et ces titres sont rest\u00e9s dans mes tirroirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’aime beaucoup le style du morceau \u00ab Life Is Short \u00bb. Je trouve qu’il sonne comme un morceau tr\u00e8s sixties. Je voulais faire un titre dans le style doo-wop un peu comme un m\u00e9lange entre la chanson \u00ab True Blue \u00bb de Madonna, du hit \u00ab Stop \u00bb des Spice Girls ou encore de la chanson \u00ab Twenty-Something \u00bb du groupe Pet Shop Boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais comme cela m’arrive souvent, cela n’a pas trop fonctionn\u00e9 mais cela a quand m\u00eame donn\u00e9 au bout du compte un titre dont je suis tr\u00e8s fier. C’est un titre tr\u00e8s original et sautillant et il reste toujours un de mes titres pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le titre \u00ab\u00a0I’m No Saint\u00a0\u00bb, lui, est tr\u00e8s ancien, je l’ai \u00e9crit en 2008 pour un album appel\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Over The Edge\u00a0\u00bb qui sortira prochainement en tant qu’album gratuit. Ici je l’ai bien s\u00fbr modernis\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 la version originale de 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour ce titre-l\u00e0, je voulais en fait \u00e9crire une chanson pour le groupe Backstreet Boys que j’admire beaucoup et je pensais leur envoyer ensuite. Bien s\u00fbr, je me suis d\u00e9gonfl\u00e9 et je ne leur ai pas envoy\u00e9 mais je trouve toujours que ce titre sonne comme du BSB pur jus et en tant que fan d’eux j’en suis tr\u00e8s fier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai toujours pens\u00e9 qu’\u00e0 l’avenir ce titre sortirait en single tellement il est bon et puissant, d’o\u00f9 l’existence d’une version longue extended faite expr\u00e8s pour lui. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La compilation best-of qui s’appellera \u00ab\u00a0Singles Volume 1\u00a0\u00bb sortira le vendredi 8 septembre 2023. Elle compilera tous les singles de The Edit King de \u00ab\u00a0Prayers Oh So Strong\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0Life Is Short\u00a0\u00bb.
